Our Story

It all began on Friday, the 13th of December 2019, in Brussels (who would have thought the 13th could be lucky!). We’d met several times before and shared good moments—there was an instant connection. But that day, everything changed, in a place we’d never forget: Grand Central (a lovely bar). The first kiss, the butterflies in our stomachs, and the feeling that something amazing was beginning.
Life carried on as usual, until something completely unexpected took us, like everyone else, by surprise: COVID! Suddenly, there were so many questions. How could we keep seeing each other and nurturing our love when it felt like the world was ending, with movement restricted? But they say love conquers all—and it did! Despite the restrictions, not everything was off-limits, and we found ways to spend time together. During those three extraordinary months, we grew even closer, spending so much time with one another.
It soon became clear: after so long together, we decided to take the next step. For once, Anthony took the initiative and asked Daniela if she would like to move into his flat and continue writing this beautiful story together. This happened on a sunny day in July, on a terrace in Flagey. And bingo! She said yes, and everything started falling into place.!

Time went on, our love grew stronger, and our plans began to take shape. We started traveling the world, discovering new places together, and enjoying life to the fullest. And we’ve seen some incredible things! Like swimming with a whale shark off the coast of Mexico or watching a breathtaking sunset from a boat in Lisbon. All these adventures and shared moments—many of them spent with you over the years—have only brought us closer and made our bond even stronger.
Very happy and with many plans in mind, we felt the need for a change of scenery and to leave behind the grey skies of Brussels. So, in November 2022, we decided to take another big step and embark on a new adventure together by moving to Barcelona. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in our story, in a city where we’d already had plenty of adventures (we’ll happily share those stories if you’re curious!).
Time kept moving forward, happiness followed us through every stage, and with even more plans on the horizon, Anthony began thinking about proposing to Daniela. Those who know him know how much he thought it through, carefully planning every detail: the where, the when, and the how. The perfect opportunity came towards the end of 2023 when we decided to visit Venezuela the following year to see Angel Falls—a truly magical place. We’d talked about it so much; everything was there: the magical setting, the perfect moment, and the meaningful gesture of doing it in Daniela’s home country, in front of a natural wonder.
Anthony began preparing his plan in total secrecy. Daniela suspected nothing, and he couldn’t have been prouder of how things were coming together. And so, on Thursday, the 9th of May, after 4 hours in a curiara (a traditional boat), a 2-hour hike, and standing before that majestic waterfall, it happened. With the help of our friends, Anthony had planned everything perfectly to capture the moment. While Daniela was posing for a photo, Anthony was filled with nerves and anticipation. After months of preparation, he was ready to take the leap!
After a couple of failed attempts to get close to Daniela, he finally managed it. He approached her and started talking, leaving Daniela confused, unsure why he was giving her a speech when they were just taking photos. Then, he reached into his pocket, pulled out a small box, and got down on one knee to ask THE question. The surprise was absolute! Daniela was speechless for a full minute before finally saying YES!
It’s time to celebrate these years of happiness and shared adventures with many of you at our wedding. We would be delighted to have you with us and cannot wait to celebrate our love by your side as we embark on this new chapter of our lives together.
Con mucho amor / Avec beaucoup d’amour,
Daniela & Anthony
